From Homelessness to Leadership: Rockell Admir Mosely’s Journey of Determination

By Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency | Nov 2025

A Story of Resilience and Determination

At Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency (ACSS), we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to rebuild a life with dignity, support, and access to career pathways. Rockell Admir Mosely is the embodiment of that belief.

When Rockell first arrived at ACSS, he was experiencing homelessness — sleeping under a porch of a nearby house. Despite his circumstances, he walked through our doors with a powerful purpose and an unwavering determination to change his life.

Support That Changed Everything

Rockell enrolled in our Workforce Development Boot Camp and was paired with Coach Artie Cobb. Together, they worked on career readiness, interviewing, confidence-building, and long-term planning. Several ACSS team members stepped in immediately — providing food, clothing, and essential resources to stabilize his situation.

“Recognizing his commitment, ACSS approved short-term emergency funding for hotel housing so Rockell could pursue employment without immediate housing barriers.”

With continued support and access to resources, Rockell secured a part-time position with Chick-fil-A. Through consistency and follow-through, he later earned a full-time opportunity with UNIFI.

From Employment to Leadership

Today, Rockell is not only employed — he is leading. He serves as a supervisor at UNIFI and has secured his own apartment, marking a milestone of stability and independence.

Recently, Rockell was invited to share his story at a Men’s Day Prayer Breakfast, expressing gratitude for the ACSS team and the community that supported him.

A Community Effort

To every ACSS team member, coach, donor, and partner who touched Rockell’s journey — thank you. It truly takes a village.

Rockell’s success is not only a testament to his own determination — it proves what’s possible when a community rallies around someone who simply needs a chance.

Thank you to everyone who makes a difference in someone’s life. It takes a VILLAGE.
